She holds a B.A. in Sociocultural Anthropology with Highest Honors and a Minor in Education from the University of California, Berkeley. She is currently pursuing a second degree in Pedagogy at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), one of Latin America’s top-ranked universities.
Adriana began her teaching career at UC Berkeley, where she served as an ESL tutor, literacy mentor, and teaching assistant. Since then, she has taught English to a wide range of learners—from kindergarten students to high schoolers and adult learners. Her work has spanned international borders, including the development of culturally responsive curricula for Indigenous communities in Chiapas, Mexico. Her workshops in these communities have integrated language, history, environmental education, and critical thinking into accessible, inclusive learning experiences.
Adriana’s teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that language is a powerful tool for personal and social transformation. She is known for creating learning environments that are interactive, personalized, and deeply connected to students lived experiences. Her teaching approach emphasizes vocabulary development, analytical writing, and confident verbal expression, encouraging students to use language as a means of empowerment.
She works with middle and high school students preparing for private school admissions, standardized tests such as the SSAT and SAT, and competitive writing opportunities. Her classes are ideal for learners looking to strengthen long-term writing and thinking skills while building confidence in structured written expressions.
